The EHS Office has prepared a Laboratory Safety Manual which lists guidelines and procedures which are to be followed while conducting laboratory operations involving hazardous materials.

This manual will be updated frequently, so please review this page often for the latest changes.

Laboratory Safety Requirements

All Labs are to follow the Laboratory Safety Requirements set forth by the Department of Risk Management.

Each Lab is required to have Emergency Contact Information posted inside or on the door. Here is a simple template to follow.

Material Safety Data Sheets

MSDS are an important part of Laboratory Safety. They are information resorces that describe the hazards and safe procedures that coorspond to each inevidual chemical or substance. Knowing the risks before working in the labs can help keep a safe working environment for everyone.

MSDS's can be found in each individual laboratory or for a searchable database of MSDS's listings online, you can either go to www.msdshazcom.com or hazard.com/msds
